Jiangxi Super Rice Research and Development Center
Mainly engaged in new variety breeding of rice, genetic and biological experiments, new variety demonstration, technology extension, technical training and services, achievements transformation, etc.. Since the establishment of the center, 12 rice varieties have been registered by the Jiangxi Provincial Crop Approval Committee, and 3 super rice varieties have been certified by the Ministry of Agriculture.

  1. Breeding new indica rice cultivars using traditional strategies plus modern molecular technology including MAS, genome editing, genetic transformation, and so on; mainly focusing on the improvement of the rice quality traits such as polished rice appearance, cooking and eating quality.

  1. Basic information
There are 8 researchers, including 2 doctors and 2 masters, 2 researchers, 3 associate researchers and 3 assistant researchers. Two experts with special allowances from the state council, one from each position in the state and Jiangxi provinces, and one from the 10 million talents project in Jiangxi province.
 
  1. The achievements in the past five years
In the past five years, we have undertaken 20 scientific research projects, which were support by the earmarked fund for China Agriculture Research System, National Natural Science Foundation of china, the National key research and development Program (sub-projects and sub-tasks), the Ministry of Agriculture Transgenic Major Project, Jiangxi province science and technology support major project, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangxi province, etc. The team members won one Second Class Prizes of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 14 new rice varieties were approved, 4 authorized invention patents were granted, 19 papers were published, and participated in two treatises.
