The Institute of Food Science and Technology
The Institute of Food Science and Technology, Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JXAAS) is a non-profit agricultural research institute. Its roots go back to 1999 when it was established as Food Processing Research and Development Center, JXAAS. Later, it was renamed as Institute of Food Science and Technology, JXAAS since 2012. It now has a faculty of 14 being scientific personnel, 7 holding senior professional ranks, 3 holding Ph. D. Degree and 5 holding M. S. Degree. Its research is mainly directed towards developing the agro-products processing science and technology, dry and storage equipment and technology, products development, conversion of basing achievements, etc.
The Institute has two research centers, which are National Peanut Processing Technology R&D Center and Key Laboratory of Food Science & Technology of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. According to the Institute development require, two Research departments were established in 2016, which are Research department of Processing and Equipment of grain and oil and Laboratory for Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Storage. Since 12th Five-Year, it has obtained 28 items , which are departmental levels or above, and the research funding up to 11.89 million yuan. It applied for 56 patents, including 2 international patents (PCT) and 26 granted patents; published 55 papers, including 2 SCI articles; published 2 books and researched five dye or storage equipment for crops. Many graduate or Ph. D. students were fostered in cooperation with Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang University and Jiangxi Agricultural University.

2013-present: Assistant professor, the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Research Interests
1. Natural antioxidant involved in extraction, properties and application in edible oil.
2. Dry equipment and drying process in crops.
3. Agro-processing technology and product, particularly in grain & oil.
Jianxiong Feng,Male,member of the Agricultural and Labour Party,researcher,In July 1984, he graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Jiangxi University, majoring in analytical chemistry. In the same year, he entered the Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, mainly engaged in agricultural product processing, grain and oil post-production processing, drying and storage technology and equipment research. Since 1995, he has served as deputy director of the Institute of Agricultural Product Quality Safety and Standards of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Since 2012, he has served as Jiangxi Province. Director of Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Researcher of Agricultural Products Quality Safety and Standards Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Master Tutor of Jiangxi Agricultural University, Director of National Peanut Processing Technology R&D Center, “11•5” National Peanut Industry Technology System Food Processing post scientist, director of the Processing and Comprehensive Research Office of the “12th Five-Year” National Peanut Industry Technology System, and post-production dry and storage post scientist.

Xuejing Zhu, female, member of the Communist Party of China, associate researcher, studied at Huazhong Agricultural University from September 1998 to June 2002; and studied at Jiangxi Agricultural University from September 2008 to June 2011. From July 2002 to October 2012, she worked in the Party Committee Office of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Since October 2012, she has been transferred to the Agricultural Products Processing Research Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Guangxian Liu, male, member of the Communist Party of China, assistant researcher, from September 2002 to July 2006, undergraduate study at Shandong University of Technology, food science and engineering; from September 2006 to January 2009, he majored in agricultural product processing and storage engineering at Nanchang University. Received a master's degree; in July 2009, he joined the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, engaged in grain and oil processing and storage research; in 2014, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Jiangxi Normal University; in November 2016, he passed a joint doctoral training program. To the Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts, USA, engaged in food protein mass spectrometry research.

Shuilan Zhu, Female, associate researcher, from 1997 to 2001, studied food science and engineering at Jiangxi Agricultural University. From 2001 to now, she is engaged in research on grain and oil processing and storage technology at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Jialin He, Male, member of the Communist Party of China, assistant researcher, from September 2005 to June 2009, studied in the Department of Light Chemical Engineering of Jiangxi Agricultural University. From September 2009 to June 2012, he obtained a master's degree in Agricultural Products Processing and Storage Engineering from Jiangxi Agricultural University. Since June 2012, he has worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Jing Luo, female, member of the Communist Party of China, studied food quality and safety at Jiangxi Agricultural University from September 2010 to June 2014. She obtained a double bachelor degree in finance from Jiangxi Agricultural University from September 2011 to June 2014. From September to June 2017, she studied for a master's degree in agricultural product processing and storage engineering at Jiangxi Agricultural University;Since July 2017, she has worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Storage Research Laboratory

(1) Director: Xiaoji Fu / Vice Director: Linghua Ouyang

(2) Research direction: mainly focus on the studies of intensive processing and comprehensive utilization of staple and special fruits and vegetables, especially on the utilization of by-products and the production technology of traditional food. Work on research and integration of latest technologies and achievements in agricultural product freshness-retain, loss-cut and storage from land to shelf.

(3) Staff introduction

Xiaoji Fu, male, Democratic League Party, associate researcher, studied at the Agricultural College of Henan Agricultural University from September 2001 to July 2005, and studied plants at the College of Life Sciences, Henan Agricultural University from September 2005 to July 2008. Master of Resources, from September 2008 to July 2011, received a Ph.D. degree in Fruit Science from the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, China Agricultural University; from July 2011 to now, he worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
    
Linghua Ouyang, female, member of the Communist Party of China, researcher, worked in Jiangxi Biotechnology Vocational College from July 2000 to August 2003; studied agricultural product processing and storage engineering from Sichuan Agricultural University from September 2003 to June 2006; From September to August 2016, he was a visiting scholar at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, “Light of the West”; since July 2006, he has worked at the Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Hua Min, male, researcher, graduated from Jiangxi University in July 1991. Since July 1991, he has worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

ShengPing Xing, male, associate researcher, studied agricultural product storage and processing at China Agricultural University from 1995 to 1999. Since 1999, he has worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Huiwei Xiong, female, member of the Communist Party of China,  assistant researcher, graduated from Nanchang University, majoring in agricultural product processing and storage engineering, Master; since 2006, she has worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Wenbin Yu, from December 1997 to December 2000, joined the army in the army; from March 2013 to July 2015, he studied at Northeast Agricultural University; from October 2001 to present, he worked at the Agricultural Products Processing Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Our unit has undertaken the scientific research projects of National Peanut Industry and Technical System, the Ministry of Agriculture's Public Welfare Industry Special Project, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Provincial Modern Agricultural Research Collaborative Innovation Project, the ministerial and provincial-level Science and Technology projects.
Available Technology: Peanut baking processing technology, baking peanut physical storage technology, peanut negative pressure low temperature peeling technology, peanut anti-Aspergillus contamination storage technology, peanut pods-sowing by rapid soaking technology, peanut land-drying technology, oil-production by whole peanut kernels technology, grain Seed drying and storage technology , low-sodium egg processing technology.
Products development: white wine, fruit and vegetable juice beverage, fermented vegetables, freeze-dried fruits and vegetables etc..
